SNAKES WIN STREAK SNAPPED

The Vipers were shutdown by Long Beach starter Ryan Claypool who went seven innings and gave up only one run. Calgary's record is now 8-3 in the second half of the season as they remained tied with the Edmonton Cracker-Cats for first place in the North Division.
In the bottom of the fourth inning Chris Klemm smacked a solo home run to give Long Beach the 1-0 lead.
In the next half inning Calgary tied the game on a Travis Drader walk, Darryl Brinkley single, Jorge Mejia ground out to move the runners into scoring position, and a wild pitch to make the score 1-1.
The Armada reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the sixth when Mike Glomb walked, reached second base on a Cleatus Davidson sacrifice bunt, and scored on a Steve Moss run batted in double. Another run scored when Klemm plated Moss with RBI single for the 3-1 advantage.
Calgary starter Nate Melek (4-3) took the loss and snapped a two game winning streak. Sean Kramer was impressive out of the bullpen going two innings without giving up a run, allowing only one hit, and striking out four.
