Calgary Vipers MVP Carlos Duncan has been selected as the Rawlings Northern League August-September Player and of the Month, it was announced Monday by the league office.


Duncan batted .382 (50-131) with eight homers, 32 RBI, and 31 stolen bases in 34 tries over 33 games in August and September. Over that span, he led the Northern League in runs (39), hits, total bases (86), and steals, ranked second in homers and RBI, had the third best slugging percentage (.656), and the fourth highest batting average.


For the season, Duncan had a .319 average, 20 homers, 80 RBI, and a Northern League record 59 stolen bases in 94 games. The righthanded batter finished third in the league in runs (84) and RBI (tied), tied for fourth in triples (7), and ranked fifth in extra base hits (48).
